Fractional Performance Lead

Performance marketing needs stronger leadership.

More markets, larger budgets and specialized teams need shared priorities. As a Fractional Lead, I take on agreed performance leadership responsibilities with a defined part-time commitment. I connect strategy, decisions and execution; we clarify capacity and decision rights first.

Explore a lead engagement

Direct senior support. Strategic and hands-on when needed.

Does this sound familiar?

A strong team needs a shared direction.

The setup is growing

Markets, channels and budgets are expanding. Decisions need to work across accounts.

Specialists are in place

Operational expertise exists. Someone needs to connect priorities, assess quality and lead collaboration.

The lead role needs capacity

You want regular leadership support or dependable ownership during a transition.

The key question

Clear decisions matter more as complexity grows.

When every team optimizes locally, the best decision for the wider business does not necessarily follow. Goals, budget logic and responsibilities need to be assessed together.

I clarify which decisions belong to the mandate, what data they require and how the team, agencies and management will work together. The agreed scope must leave enough capacity for real leadership.

Performance leadership

Set direction. Make responsibility workable.

No reporting for its own sake: each element should make a decision or collaboration easier.

  1. Goals and guardrails

Translate business goals into clear performance targets and economic limits.

  2. Budget allocation

Assess investments across products, markets and channels using explicit assumptions.

  3. Measurement and forecasts

Align reporting and scenarios with the decisions ahead.

  4. Roles and decisions

Clarify specialist ownership, approvals and escalation paths.

  5. Teams and agencies

Align priorities, quality standards and communication with those doing the work.

  6. Tests and learning

Establish a shared test portfolio and regular reviews.

How I work

A possible rhythm for the engagement.

An illustrative example; we agree on frequency and participants together.

  1. Operational alignment

Discuss current developments, prioritized work and dependencies with those responsible.

  2. Performance review

Assess results, data quality and ongoing tests against the agreed goals.

  3. Allocation decision

Use the findings to align budgets, resources and the next initiatives.

Fractional / Interim Leadership

A clear area of responsibility. Personally owned.

Fractional means an embedded lead role with a planned part-time commitment. An interim engagement may fit a time-limited transition better. We explicitly agree on decision rights, availability and hands-on responsibilities.

  • Agreed mandate with roles, goals and decision paths
  • Prioritized performance roadmap
  • Appropriate reporting and review rhythm
  • Specialist leadership and coordination with teams and agencies
  • Documented decisions and a structured handover if needed

Indicative fee: €5,600–€11,200 per month. The role depends on your needs and my available capacity. We agree on decision processes and responsibilities in advance.

Leadership in an international setup

Experience in a related lead role

Connect priorities, team and account work.

As Interim SEA Lead, I was responsible for an international team and the development of Search and Shopping. The case shows my leadership work; the scope of a fractional engagement is agreed separately.

Experience that connects analysis and execution.

I have worked in online marketing since 2012. After training at Rocket Internet and serving as Head of Online Marketing, I worked with teams across different markets and stages of growth.

I have worked as Head of Online Marketing and as an external team lead, managed international accounts and worked with different teams and roles. I bring that experience into a clearly defined mandate without claiming to replace an entire marketing organization.

Experience and approach

In brief

Questions about fractional and interim leadership.

What is the difference between fractional and interim?

Fractional describes an embedded lead role with an agreed part-time commitment, often for a longer period. Interim means taking on responsibility for a limited time, for example during a vacancy. The two can overlap.

At what budget does this make sense?

Budget alone does not decide that. Complexity, team structure and the need for decisions and leadership matter. We assess whether a lead engagement or focused advisory is the better fit.

Will you also work hands-on?

Yes, when needed. We agree on that share of the work deliberately so there is enough capacity for leadership.

Can you replace a full-time role?

Not in every setup. If the business needs permanently embedded full-time leadership, an internal hire may be a better fit. The required scope must match the capacity available.
